Privacy, terms and refunds
CopyPal is a clipboard manager that keeps everything on your Mac. This page explains exactly what the app and the website do with your data, what you get when you buy a license, and how refunds work.

Privacy policy
What CopyPal stores, and where
CopyPal records what you copy — text, links, images, screenshots and the text it recognises inside images — together with the app and, for browsers, the web page each item came from. All of it is stored in a database in your user Library folder on your Mac (~/Library/Application Support/Clip). Nothing you copy is ever uploaded anywhere. There are no accounts, no analytics, no telemetry and no crash reporting.
What leaves your Mac
- License activation and checks. When you enter your license key, and about once a week afterwards, CopyPal sends the key and your Mac's name to Dodo Payments, our payment provider, to confirm the purchase. Nothing from your clipboard is included.
- Update checks. About once a day CopyPal asks copypal.app whether a newer version exists. The request carries the app version and your macOS version, and no identifier.
- Site icons (optional). To show the icon of a website you copied from, CopyPal downloads that site's icon directly from the site itself, so the site sees an ordinary request from your Mac. You can turn this off in Settings.
What CopyPal never does
- It never reads what you type. The only exception is spotting the keywords of snippets you created yourself, which happens in memory and never in password fields.
- It never records from password managers (1Password, Bitwarden, Dashlane, KeePassXC and Apple's Keychain Access are excluded by default), and it skips anything an app marks as confidential or transient on the clipboard.
- It never sells, shares or transmits your clipboard history.
Purchases
Payments are handled by Dodo Payments as merchant of record. Dodo processes your payment, applies any tax, issues the receipt and emails your license key. We receive your email address and order details from Dodo so we can support you and process refunds. See Dodo's privacy policy for how they handle payment data.
This website
copypal.app is a static site hosted on Cloudflare, which keeps standard server logs. The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics scripts. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google's servers see your IP address when the page loads.
Deleting your data
Use Clear History in the CopyPal menu to erase everything the app recorded, or delete the app together with the folder named above. If you want your purchase records deleted, email us and we will ask Dodo to remove what the law allows them to remove.
Terms of use
- The license. A CopyPal license is a one-time purchase. It lets you install and use CopyPal on up to two Macs that you own or control, and includes every update to version 1.x. Major versions (2.0 and later) may be sold separately.
- What you may not do. Share, resell or publish your license key, or use it on more than two Macs at a time. You can move the license to a new Mac with Deactivate this Mac in Settings.
- Refunds and chargebacks. A refunded or charged-back purchase disables its license key.
- No warranty. CopyPal is provided as is. We work hard to make it reliable, but we can't promise it will suit every purpose or run without interruption. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the license.
- Changes. We may update these terms; the date at the top of this page shows the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
Refund policy
14 days, no questions asked. If CopyPal isn't for you, email support@copypal.app within 14 days of purchase with the email address you bought with or your license key. We refund the full amount to the original payment method through Dodo Payments; it usually shows up within 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank. The license key stops working once the refund is issued.
After 14 days, we still want to help: if CopyPal doesn't work on your Mac and we can't fix it, write to us and we will sort it out.
Contact
Questions, problems or refund requests: support@copypal.app. Inside the app, Report a Problem… in the menu writes an email with your app and macOS versions filled in.
